About a year ago, I started building www.minnnis.com - a place for professional commission miniature painters to showcase their portfolios. I did most of the work myself, but got help from a couple of well respected community experts with some bits I struggled with.
It’s a hobby project - but not on the Hobby pricing level! I pay $29/mo to run this, but there is no business model behind it. I just do it for the love of it.
Sadly, I don’t have time these days to work on the project, although I would love to see it continue to improve and grow. Therefore, I am looking for some freelance help to work on the platform. That means it is paid work - but I can’t exactly pay top dollar.
There are some main improvements I would like to make:
- The most important is to improve the responsive design. I built Minnnis from a template, and in making it work I have rather butchered the mobile version. UX is decent on a desktop, but rubbish on mobile. Currently, the site gets a Google optimisation score of about 1/100. That means it does terribly in search engine rankings, even though it is rich with fresh content, so should do well.
- Any other SEO improvements
- Improving image browsing. I guess that is part of 1.) but really I would prefer if one could swipe to view the pictures.
- Fix FB login. Yeah, I didn’t have a real privacy page, so FB disabled FB login. I will need to provide the T&Cs, but FB login needs to be fixed.
- Push images to Facebook. I can’t remember where I saw it, but I am pretty sure there is now a plugin to push images to a gallery from a Bubble app. Would be neat to have that.
- Integration with Mailchimp or similar. If I ever do a mailing to the users, I kinda paste all the email addresses into a bcc field of an email, which is clearly terrible.
- Pull images from Instagram. Probably not possible, but it would be ideal if someone could create an album on Minnnis direct from Instagram.
- Maybe further develop a couple of beta features I started but never finished.
I originally thought I would like some small level work - like a few hours a month. The problem with that is, to get a second person to work on Minnnis I will need to upgrade to Professional plan, so we can have 2 Dev versions, plus two editors working on the one project. So maybe we try to do everything in one month? To be discussed.
Although this is just a hobby project, I would like to work with someone I can trust will do good work and take it seriously, but work efficiently. Ideally, you can show me some similar projects, especially with a view to the responsive design. Maybe let me know what you would do if you had carte blanche to do whatever you want with Minnnis.
