I had this working a while ago but since overhauling my site it no longer works. I wondered if anyone has experience with the google autocomplete address set up and could spot where I am going wrong?
No, I have a single page app and I changed from custom states to URL parameters for the app navigation, that’s all. Also, my payment card expired in Google console so that is the initial cause of the API’s stopping working, but as of two days ago the payment card is up to date.
I’ve just doubled checked the correct API key is set in Bubble and they are. To be clear, my Google ‘Client key’ is placed in the bottom Bubble field and the Google ‘Server key’ is placed in the top Bubble field. This is correct right?
To be honest I have never tried with Google Maps, I don’t actually know how to! All I want is for the address input to autocomplete. Do you suggest I add a map to my page as a test? If so, what will happen, will it display the address I type in the input field?
It was more so help clarify whether the issue sat on the Bubble side or Google side. If the Maps JavaScript API is also not working, would seem that it’s definitely Google’s side and more likely to be somehow tied to your billing issue.
When I place a map on my page it displays correctly, but on preview it is blank and says “This page can’t load Google Maps correctly”. I’m guessing this means the issue is on Google side.
The issue was that my Google billing had disabled. I had added billing to the Project and received a lovely email saying that my billing is now active. This, as it turns out, is super misleading, it is active but needs to be assigned to a project ID (not a Project) to work.
So, simply updating my credit card info required 5 emails from Google! I may not be the smartest but it’s the first time since 2005 that I have been confused by a website’s requirements for updating a credit card. I stand by my earlier claim that Google’s Cloud Platform needs a competent UI developer to sort it out!
