How to accept single and subscription Paypal payments

Hey everyone!

I want to share a tip about accepting payments…

It’s a big topic with a lot of ground to cover because there are so many options for the direction your specific app will need to go.

And of course, the ultimate goal is to create a profitable app…that means setting up payments is a critical aspect of development.

Now, I typically suggest using Stripe when it comes to accepting payments. It’s an easy-to-use platform with competitive pricing and acceptance in dozens of different countries.

That being said, Stripe isn’t an option for everyone.

If that’s the case for you, the alternative is usually PayPal.

There are tons of ways you can build a payment feature into your app, and if you can keep it simple, you should. Here’s a video walk-through on how to use the Braintree plugin (Braintree is a PayPal company) and accept Paypal payments.

Cheers,
Gaby

Hi!

I have a merchant account for braintree and have entered all of the keys in the plugin page, but none of my subscription plans are showing up for me to acctually create the workflow?

Is this a problem with the plugin or am I doing something wrong…

Can eloborate the issue if needed…

Thanks!

Hey @josh15, it’s hard to say…I would double check your keys and make sure you’re on the latest version of the plugin. You could also reach out to the plugin developer if you’re experiencing issues.

Hey! This could be very helpful. However, I just found out Braintree is not available in Colombia nor any other Latam country. As @romanmg said its key to make your app profitable in the long run, a process I’m developing now. So as mentioned, Stripe is a great option, and looking into it, they are now offering a tool for international founders and entrepreneurs to set a C- Company in the US and enable international businesses to get their services. An option that so far looks pretty interesting. Anyone interested in this can find more info at https://stripe.com/blog/atlas-llc
Hope this is helpful.

Hi @romanmg! I was wondering, why using the braintree plug-in if you could use the Paypal plug-in? I am asking because I’m in Colombia and apparently braintree is not available here but paypal is. Thanks
