I love this forum and all the help I’ve gotten over the years from fellow Bubblers.
What if there was an easy way to send a tip to someone that answers your question? If the question solves your problem, you can mark it as the solution and have an option to send a small cash tip to the user. It wouldn’t be impossible to code, I think I could even tackle that with Stripe.
It could help reinforce the community here. I would love to be able to send a contributor a quick $5 for solving my questions
It’s a well-intentioned idea but it tends to get abused fairly quickly by users becoming “professional repliers” that spend every hour of the day hunting for answers so they can get cash. It’s why you don’t see this in virtually any forum online.
If you run into a hard problem and feel impressed with the way another user helps you with your problem I would recommend you reach out to them in DMs and find out if they are freelancers or own Bubble agencies and maybe think about them when you want to contract work in the future (or recommend them to someone needing help building their app)
Yeah, we actually do well with helping people here on the forum already. Many people see that we help others, and are kind, then reach out to have us do work for them or book coaching sessions. That is nice that you are wanting to contribute though. There are a lot of good people on this forum.
That is a good thought, but as @fede.bubble pointed out, it will just lead to issues of people attempting to provide answers, and likely a lot of poor answers.
Most contributors help not because they are promoting themselves, their products or services, but simply to help as there are a lot of benefits that come from just simply providing genuinely free help, much like those who donate their time at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen.
On a serious note, I rely on publicity generated by the mostly free or very inexpensive software I publish here. Sometimes people are grateful for my help / work and buy me a coffee. It’s up to people to decide if they want to accept tips or not. But we don’t need to hyper monetize everything x)
