Is it just me, or do others have ongoing, weird / random issues using Bubble?

I feel I put up with ongoing issues using the Bubble editor and I’m really curious if it’s just me being “fussy” or whether other people experience daily frustration with the most random issues.

Here’s just one example of the frustrations. Here’s a video of me desperately trying to simply delete part of a conditional statement on a workflow step:

So I end up refreshing the page, re-entering the editor, and trying some other tactics… all complete failures:

Sure, I ask support about it but it involves explaining in detail the “steps to reproduce the issue” and most of the time I don’t know what steps led to the issue… it just started being an issue and then it goes away. By the time support get back to me, I’ve worked around it, or the problem has disappeared.

For me, when it comes to editing conditions on a workflow step, I’ve found that it’s impossible to delete anything from the start or middle of a condition. If I try that, it ends up deleting the whole condition. Is that the same for other people? But as you’ll see in the videos above, now I’m unable to even delete from the end of a condition.

The expression composer is very bad, yes. It’s a bit better with parentheses, because you have some modularity with modifying the outermost layer, but still a tedious experience. They should have worked on the expression composer instead of the editor refresh, but oh well. It’s not as shiny.

Not you at all. Bubble is chop full of bugs and all sorts of weird/random things happen.

For example, a template I created, that worked, and everything is fine for years, that I never change anything to, suddenly has a function stop working. This was brought to my attention by a user, I see it in the template, but when I check other systems of mine that use the same feature set (ie: were created from the template) nothing is wrong. This has happened three times to the same template.

Yesterday I was attempting to work on a client project. Kept getting timeout every 2 minutes despite my internet speed being above 100MBS, as well as all sorts of other odd or nonfunctional things.

What is hard for most new users is that they usually do not have the experience necessary to know if it is something they are doing wrong, or if it is that Bubble is just working properly.

Anyone else’s editor timing out/not saving etc over the last couple of hours?

I can relate to that comment.

I’ve had things happen on my site and just assumed it was something I had done, but I could never track down what I could have done.

The last thing that happened was when I would preview my site, I would get a popup asking if I wanted to translate the site from French To English.

I don’t know French and don’t know anything on my site that would be in French.

It showed the popup a few times, then stopped. Then it did it a couple more times and stopped.

The only thing I could figure out is maybe a plugin I had tried was causing this.

I’m still not sure. But it’s been about a month since it has done this.

happened to me a few days ago. I usually work with multiple editor tabs open across 2 pcs and 4 screens, and they’re all pretty good at saving in real time.

i noticed that one of them wasn’t saving but it wasn’t timing out either, despite the other editors saving fine.

Quite often for me. One time I didn’t see the warning and kept working, losing about an hours worth of changes.

Yes, I think that’s a good point about new users assuming they’re the problem when it may well be a Bubble problem. I’m not new to coding and I’m damn sure many of the issues I’m having are Bubble bugs.

I really dedicated myself to the platform and built a fairly complex system, knowing that no platform is perfect and you have to learn to work around the “quirks”, but with Bubble I’m reaching a point of just saying, “screw it, I’ll go back to raw coding because the ‘no code’ idea isn’t ready for market yet”.

My latest issue is a workflow randomly “crashing” with an error in the Bubble log saying it’s a temporary error and that they’ll fix it. It’s not fixed, and Bubble tell me to try “this” and try “that”… no specific advice, no acceptance that they should fix anything… To solve the issue, all I have to work with is a vague error in the error log, no errors showing in the editor, and Bubble saying they can’t help me.

I’ve had that message the last 24 hours, unable to use my app.

I think Bubble hates me and this is their passive-aggressive way to show it, lol.
