Is the whole Bubble editor freezing for anyone else when trying to search for plugins in a button or in the icon element?
Same issue. Both Chrome and Brave browsers crash when I try to select an icon for buttons.
Same issue experienced since Sunday. Adding icon crashes the page and bubble editor. unable to change icon. Bugs
*insert awesome plugin recommendation… here
*no more crashes… poof
All seriousness, that’ll likely be fixed soon, but in the meantime you can try my plugin out that allows you access to THOUSANDS more icons, and you can also make them dynamic
happening for me to - when using the button element and selecting material icon the whole editor hangs - issue started a few days back
Everyone experiencing issues should submit a bug report here:
Still happening for me too - bug report submitted.
Looks like Bubble support isn’t seeing the same issue…
This is the video they sent me of them trying: https://bubble-ddb2485e4a34.intercom-attachments-1.com/i/o/cz703g22/1233147835/5fb41d60c30b0507a33d4cd44b5f/AddingIcon.mp4?expires=1730232900&signature=c4fa0727e6b2fcde8670d36dd6a20068c8e5adbdad89968db3c0a927a75d5017&req=dSIkFch6molcXPMW1HO4zU1J2X6OtzBB/6tuPI4FILzDW1BU276CSq9uk4Z3 +wClXqzCRzk%3D
Just putting this out there, I’ve only had this happen to me once on Safari, Firefox and Chrome but after restarting my computer it didn’t happen again so I never submitted a bug report. Thought it was a one time thing but I’m guessing it’s not but seems like it has to be a perfect storm for it to happen.
yeah… support is saying:
- Log out from Bubble.
- Delete your browser’s cookies and cache using the browser’s settings screen. It’s very important to delete both - and you will be prompted to log back into most websites. If you are not prompted to log back into websites where you were previously logged in, this operation was likely not completed correctly.
- Restart your browser, then log back into your Bubble account
- Re-open the app’s editor and try to open pages in your app
That didn’t fix it for me
I’m using Arc, is anyone having this issue using Arc too?
I have also come across a thread here mentioning the same bug: https://forum.bubble.io/t/im-wondering-the-reason-why-bubble-get-superslow-when-i-use-icon-element
@johnny - I’m using Brave (also Chromium based)
I can confirm that this is possibly a Chromium browser issue as I am not seeing the same behaviour in Safari.
A full reset of Brave did nothing to resolve the issue.
When sampling the process using instruments the CPU load maxes out which is what causes the hang. The sampler actually registers up to a 256% CPU utilisation for 24 second and suggests it has a backlog of processing. Heres a screenshot of the performance monitor when attempting to search for a Phosphor icon for example.
Oh yeah, I’m using the editor on Safari now and it’s working fine. I wonder what’s causing this…
The same thing is happening here, I can’t change an icon at all, so the browser crashes.
Support is saying it’s device-specific
What device are y’all using?
I’m on a MacBook Pro, M1 Max Chip, 64 GB on RAM on MacOS Sequoia 15.1
I’ve tried various devices. Editor still hangs selecting Icon. In the meantime Im using Iconic Icon.
Bubble editor seemed very slow while working yesterday. Experienced the ‘close or wait’ notification a few times.
Which browser are you on? Have you also filed a bug report?
@johnny and I got to chat with one of the team and found out about how bug reports are handled and escalated - there actually is a hard ‘number of affected users’ limit that affects escalation so submitting bug reports does help the chances of it getting fixed
It stopped for me when switching to Vivaldi from Arc. Still happening in Arc though.
