Mobile Roadmap: Recent & Upcoming Releases

Hi everyone!

Thank you for being part of the Bubble mobile beta. We’re seeing new apps landing in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store every week, and your early testing and feedback made this possible. Thank you for being such an integral part of this journey. Given our progress since October, our goal is to shift into a public beta by June 2025.

Here’s an update on how your input has helped us evolve and what’s coming next!

What we’ve shipped

Based on your feedback and testing, we’ve successfully shipped several major features since October:

What we’re working on

We’re working hard on these features that many of you have requested and here’s what we will be shipping for the public beta and beyond:

  • Plugin Editor: We’re working with a small group of alpha testers to refine this highly requested feature that will let you add custom functionality.
  • Short list & selectable list elements: Short lists and selectable lists are a lightweight alternative to Repeating Groups, designed to create native experiences on smaller data sets. The Short List, like Repeating Groups, pulls dynamic data from a source, and allows you to display multiple lists on a view. The Selectable List is similar, but is an input element that keeps track of the selected state of items, so you can easily build any type of select flow your app news. Unlike the Vertical List view, however, they’re meant for option sets and lists of <30 items.
  • Web Preview Debugger: Catch bugs or issues by testing your app right in your browser.
  • More reliable builds: Better observability and error handling during the deploy process.
  • In-App Purchases: Monetize your mobile business with seamless in-app payments.
  • Native Video Element: Smooth, integrated video playback.
  • Native Alerts: System-level messaging for important user interactions.
  • And more!

Your participation has helped us scale our beta program significantly. As of February 2025, we’ve increased our monthly invitation capacity by 10x compared to when we started. This growth is a direct result of the stability and reliability you’ve helped us achieve.

If you have any additional feedback or encounter any issues with the latest features, please don’t hesitate to reach out in the mobile forum. Please send a direct message to Fede if you don’t have access to the mobile forum section.

Best,

The Bubble team

I’m just jumping back into this after being out for a while, and I’m super happy to see that a lot of the features that were missing before are now here!

Still a long way to go, but I’ve noticed that what you’re building is being done really well! I’d rather have you take your time and build it good than do a rush job and then be stuck with bad decisions and poor designs that can’t be changed due to backwards-compatibility reasons.

Keep up the good work! I’m excited for the future!

Congrats to the mobile team! Its exciting to get into the editor when you have access, even if it feels very simple with the current available features.

Thanks for keeping us informed about

Amazing to see the updates. Lets go team!

@nick.carroll In my application the shortlist element is not yet available, is there any principle to deploy this update to testers?

UPDATE: all right, shortlist and selectable list are now available for me

Thanks for the update!

I’m new to the beta and have a few important questions for those of us with existing web apps:

  1. How can I migrate my existing and tested web app interface to the mobile app? I tried to clone it, but the option wasn’t available.
  2. When I make changes to my web app (new features, bug fixes, etc.) and need to replicate them to the native app, are the backend and frontend shared, or do I need to develop both separately? Also, what’s the best approach for maintaining both web and mobile versions?
  3. Is there a plan to integrate a QR/Bar code scanner natively into the Mobile Editor?

I understand that this is still a private beta, but I’d love to know if these features are already implemented, expected, or if I should submit this feedback through the Mobile Beta Editor’s feedback tab.

Thanks again!

@residenzio.2227 Hi,
Some of your questions are already in This Bubble Doc and This Bubble Doc :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you so much @miracle!

From what I’ve read, I understand that web and mobile need to be developed separately. Does anyone know the best approach for maintaining both web and mobile versions? Also, what’s the best way to migrate the web app to the mobile app?

Thanks again!

@residenzio.2227 for now there isn’t a way to migrate from web app to native mobile. Some elements on web cannot work on the native environment hence the need to be built with native parterns.

Example of this is the use of dropdown in WebApps, but in Native, yiu can use sheets to acomplish thesame thing.

For managing your project, both Web and Native share the same Database and Backend Workflow.
You can deploy to on Web or you can deploy to Web+Mobile

For more info you can refere to Bubble Manual (Native section)
