Mysterious black screen from this morning on iPads for an app wrapped with BDK

Hi @gaurav, from this morning, all my clients trying to open the wrapped app get a black screen. I didn’t change anything in the last days and up to yesterday everything was working.
I’m experiencing the same problem on my ipad.
Any clue?

It’s the same with zeroqode wrapper apps, which means it’s not entirely a wrapper problem. But also a bubble/serving/caching(?) issue.

Yes, I think the problem is this:

Also experiencing this. Users complains about this on iPads

Hi, yes I suppose the reason is the one posted in the following post. Please comment there so the post appears on top of the list. In any case I also wrote to support.

@nick.carroll @fede.bubble

Can you please have the relevant people in bubble team take a look at the changes rolled out last night. Something has broken apps across multiple wrappers by making them not load on the iPad webviews.

For example, on the BDK native app, I’m seeing a message that says, ‘Your browser was unable to load the application data. We’ve been notified of the issue. Please try again in a few moments and make sure not to use ad-blockers,’ but this is only happening on iPads. Oddly enough, stuff like my Crisp chatbot (which isn’t part of the Bubble JavaScript) still loads just fine on the same page isolating the issue to bubble content.

The Bubble app works perfectly in a browser when I switch to iPad-sized responsive mode, so I think it’s probably a webview compatibility issue with the new code. This update has ended up affecting thousands of live client apps on iPads (even though they didn’t change anything on their end), so I’d really appreciate it if we could get a quick fix on this. Thanks so much!

P.s. Also sharing a screenshot below. In case it helps for your team’s reference, this is the user agent string we use in bdk: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 14_6 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/14.0 Mobile/15E148 Safari/604.1 .

Yep, started yesterday around 12:00pm pst for me

Same for me. It’s been down since yesterday…

Same here with Air Native.

Yes, have been continuously “checking back” since yesterday and still no iPad app …

@fede.bubble any news? I keep receiving complaints from my users and some already said they won’t renew my service since it’s the 4th down they are suffering in a week (one was unpkg, the other 2 some mysterious backed errors the support is still working on). Reliability of Bubble is still huge problem. And the Bubble status is all green…

The issue was escalated to our engineering team and is currently under investigation

We’re approaching 24 hours of downtime for our app. Issues like this make it really hard to consider Bubble a reliable platform for anything that has real users…

@fede.bubble is there any update? it’s now almost a full day and this is beyond critical now. Please can someone at least provide an update so that we can manage our own user expectations too.

Would really appreciate if there is an ETA to the resolution heading into the weekends. My customer is understandably VERY concerned…

This is a bummer for those with impacted businesses and/or clients. I hope they can fix it for you ASAP.

Curious, though—what are you guys using the iPad version of your apps for? Point of sale systems? Something else?

for a kiosk to receive clients of my users.
Btw I’m trying to enable Progressier to bypass the problem… It works but my app is full of conditions depending if the page is opened on a browser or on the wrapped app…

I want to add to the list, that it’s effecting webOS Smart TV, Samsung Tizen Smart TV agents too. We have zero control over the building of the Browers/Wrappers, since those are done and rolled out by the Smart TV vendors.

This is deeply effecting our users on LGTV and has tossed a monkey wrench into going Live soon on Samsung TV.
