I have a Bubble app that is several years old and hasn’t been updated in a few months. For the most part, it has continued to run without any issues.
However, something odd has suddenly started happening. I have a Contact data type with several fields, including First Name, Last Name, and Full Name. The Full Name field is populated by a workflow that combines the first and last name.
For some reason, the space between the first and last name has suddenly disappeared. For example, “John Smith” is now being saved as “JohnSmith.”
What makes this especially strange is that the app hasn’t been changed or updated in months, yet the issue seems to have started recently.
Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Unfortunately, this isn’t just a visual or formatting issue. The actual data in the Full Name field is now being saved and overwritten without the space between the first and last name.
Check your live database, confirm last instance of correct structure and first instance of incorrect structure, then contact bubble with those. That may help them look back based on dates to see what changed either in your app or on bubble side. Very unlikely a bubble issue, probably a mistake of removing an empty space after the split by operator, or could just be one user not entering a space between first and last name assuming you collect all 3 values via a single input rather than collecting via 2 inputs and combining for full name.
I’d be less kind with bubble responsability’s there.
Random modification in app behavior happened to me as well on some occasions, that got deployed live while releasing something else completely unrelated.
I believe, some cache or local data might sometime have unexpected and invisible impact on the app.
