New Bug - Update from database iOS seems dosn't work

Hello everyone,

I noticed that unfortunately sometimes the apps don’t always update from the bubble database. In this specific case I have a page that shows the leads. When they are inserted from the web version, the list is not always updated on apps. And as a result no push notifications arrive. I noticed this mainly on iOS but I don’t know if the problem is also on Android.

It doesn’t always happen, but only in some cases. Users reported it to me today. In my profile honestly it doesn’t happen so I couldn’t see it firsthand.

Any ideas on how to get around it? A possible swipe down to update? But anyway it’s a strange behavior..

Let me know..

@nick.carroll Any ideas? I’m receiving numerous reports from my users and I don’t know how to manage it..

Just so I understand correctly, you have a list view on your mobile app, and when you add a record on the web app, it doesn’t always show up in that list view?

I’ll give you as many details as possible. The page type is vertical list. I have a series of leads that repeat themselves. It’s a behavior that doesn’t always happen, but once it does, it doesn’t receive updates from the database anymore. So yes, if I insert a new element from the version in the database, I don’t see it on the app. I was seeing if I had a way to do a forced refresh, maybe by inserting a button but I didn’t even find a way to do this  Ah and not even the push notifications related to these updates arrive on the user’s devices (they gave consent to the notification).

Oh I forgot. This may help. If I force the user to stay on that page of the mobile app, and I insert a new element in the database, magically the app updates and the records that did not appear before also appear, in addition to the last one I just entered..

ah ok, so when a user is not on a particular view or tab and data is added via the web app, the user will not see the new data when they return to that view? But if they have the view open, they will see the new data?

Exactly as you said

Ok this is really helpful, thank you. Will look into both the pull to refresh and the Bubble mobile app getting new data when the view is not “in focus” so to speak, as that is expected behavior

Please let me know.. it’s really important..

Are you seeing this behavior on BubbleGo too? Or just on a live app? I’m not able to reproduce on my test app on BubbleGo

Unfortunately it doesn’t work on my account.. so I can’t tell you.. on my live app and on Bubble Go I don’t notice anything.. that’s why I couldn’t notice it before..

So far I have been reported by 9 users all active on iOS (I don’t know if it’s a coincidence.. or if on Android no one has noticed).

By the way, I’m noticing that it happens when you haven’t opened the app for two or more days.. In fact in my case I open the app a couple of times a day and until now it hasn’t happened..

ohh so the app was in the background when data was added?

Exactly.. but then when it’s opened it doesn’t update.. if not waiting on that screen and adding the data.. Then it also recovers the previous ones that were not displayed..

So basically, only adding new data while the app is open will load any of the data that was previously added while the app was backgrounded?

Exactly that!

Where is this setting? On iPhone, if I go to the app and then click on mine there is no background update option as for many others..
