I am proud to announce my new plugin for Bubble! It utilizes OneSignal API, and Web Push SDK to allow you to send notifications to your computer/web users!
Compatible with Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
I would love to explain everything here but I made this great page that explains it all for you, and gives an example! Go check it out!
PSSSSSSSSSSSSST!When it asks to allow notifications, click “ALLOW” so you can use our test notification feature We promise we won’t send you any unneeded notifications.
Text Documentation and full video documentation will be out soon! Most video documentation will be up tomorrow (April 14th) on that page I just posted above.
Any questions or suggestions, would love to answer below!
I like the list of users API call idea, I will begin to work on that, in the meantime, great news!
Opera Support added
Safari Support added
Now you can have your notifications pop up like a native notification on MacOS with the safari notification added! It looks amazing, and the documentation will be updated later today to show how to get it all setup! If you are even semi tech savvy then you should be able to pull it off.
I’m not too familiar with this type of notification. Are these only visible to visitors on desktop browsers? Is there anything similar for mobile users?
This plugin is for desktop users, this notification pops up on the bottom right (or top right on mac) of the users screen, whether your website is open or not. I have attached some examples below.
The best Way I could possibly explain it to you is if you go to HERE and click Allow Notifications and then click test notification on the page. It will show you exactly what I am talking about.
I am going to try and work on mobile notifications but that will take much longer, this is the first step.
It seems the integration task is more cumbersome if you have an https site like myself… Have you done a tutorial for that?
The part I’m getting stuck is uploading the SDKs to the top of my top-level-root of my sites directory…
Unfortunately you have to use the “My site is not fully HTTPS” option, and it works fine, all it adds is a “yourname.onsignal.com” instead of “yourname.com”
Unfortunately you cannot have access to the site directory unless you have the Bubble Dedicated Hardware plan which is $500/month minimum I believe. This may become a feature in the future but for now most do not use the dedicated plan.
Hey codurly, Thank you for this plugin, it is really helpful.
I would need some advice if possible. I Have done all you say in the tutorial 01, But I have not been able to make it work.
I do have a https bubble site, so I used the Onesignat plugin without the subdomain and did not worked, ( I did not get the subscribe notification ), Also I tried with the subdomain, even though my domain is https, and did not work either. It is an actual problem in the plugin?, I Already triple checked everything.
The only way to use the HTTPS feature is if you are using Bubble’s Dedicated Hardware plan. Otherwise you will need to use the HTTP version, whether your site is HTTPS or HTTP.
If you could PM and describe your problem more I would love to help.
Hey Codurly,
it is working now, I just realized you should wait some time before onesignal notifications start to work.
Also I found out you should use the “yourname.onsignal.com” instead of “yourname.com” even if you have your bubble app with https.
Looking forward for more like safari, ios and android notifications
Thank you for your help.
