Performance with scale

I’m trying to build a news website with tons of elements, repeating groups across tabs, twitter-like streaming data from users etc…

I’m concerned about the performance as it scales up to 100, 1000, 10000 users etc. Just designing the interface with dummy static data causes a lag when showing / hiding tabbed groups. Does the performance improve as we upgrade to a higher plan ? Can it be as fast as something like Bloomberg.com ?

So I was talking about Bubble last night to some friends. They had questions about the database and how it would preform if there came to be hundreds of thousands of users on an app with multiple tables for each.
