Besides updating our Emoji Ratings plugin, we decided to spice up the chatting options within Bubble apps.
For that, we created our Emoji Picker, based on latest version of Emojipedia, which can be tailored to your preferences.
It is designed for quick setup and instant functionality and is a perfect solution for enhancing user experience with just a few clicks.
Awesome plugin! I just bought and installed it in my app. I was having trouble with the setup however. I was trying to use the emojipicker when users click the smiley face emoji in the screenshot below.
However, in the workflow, I did see âinitial contentâ as a option for the custom state. I figured out that I needed to create this, but didnât stumble upon that solution right away as in the documentation, it does not mention anything about creating a custom state in the setup steps and I had to poke around your editor to see how you had set up the custom state in your demo.
Another thing I had to do in my app was reset this custom state (by leaving the value empty as pictured below) after the send icon was clicked. Otherwise, the input field of the multiline input continued to hold the sent text message, even though I had the function âreset relevant inputsâ setup in my workflow.
Hi @laura5, thanks for your message.
Earlier, this plugin has been acquired by the Zeroqode Agency.
Thus, we are tagging @ZeroqodeSupport for further communication.
Thank you so much for your feedback! Weâre really glad to hear youâre enjoying the plugin, and we appreciate you pointing out some of the setup steps.
Regarding the custom state and the behavior you mentioned, youâre absolutely rightâcreating a custom state (like the one for âinitial contentâ) is key when working with the Rapid Emoji Picker. While the documentation gives an overview of how to use the plugin, weâll definitely take your feedback into account for improving the clarity of the setup instructions, especially around custom states.
As for the issue you encountered with the multiline input still holding the sent text message, the behavior youâre describing is actually tied to how workflows are set up, especially when resetting input values. The key here is to ensure that after sending the message, the custom state is also reset. This is why clearing the custom state value after sending the message resolves the issue for you.
Quick Solution:
Custom State Reset: It seems that resetting the custom state explicitly after sending the message is necessary to clear the text in the multiline input.
This can be done by adding a âSet Stateâ action in your workflow to clear the value of the custom state once the âsendâ action is triggered.
Double Check Reset Relevant Inputs: Make sure that âReset relevant inputsâ is correctly configured for the input field in question. While this usually works, the custom state might still hold a value if it isnât explicitly cleared, so setting the custom state to empty could be a helpful step.
Weâre glad you were able to find the solution, and weâre sure this tip will help other users who encounter the same issue. Thanks for sharing, and if you need any more help with this plugin or anything else, feel free to reach out!
