I dunno, I’m just not sold on either Wappler or Flutterflow when I looked at them. Besides Bubble the one I really like is Appgyver, it’s logic flows are just everything you wish Bubble had. But not sure what SAP’s plans are for it so there’s a question marks there although it is completely free. Someone mentioned Noodl and that looks very interesting as does Toddle & Dittofi although the latter two are nowhere near there yet.
Anyone noticed Appmaster
Best case scenario this causes a mass shift of users to other platforms, bubble runs out of run rate, forced to release it as open source as they promised and terms & conditions stated and everyone just self hosts bubble anyway in a few years.
Worst case bubble realizes how many people are leaving, makes pricing more fair, and some people stay regardless of the fact that bubbles track record isn’t something you want to deal with when they fully control the livelyhood of your entire business with no way to leave without rebuilding elsewhere.
Am I the only person who minted the Bildr Studio Pass?
I never really gave them a shot.
Has anyone checked out Draftbit?
No-code builder for react-native output, which I like better than the idea of the dart code from FlutterFlow.
look like its only for mobile apps !
How do go about moving to a new system with paying customers? Build from scratch, export live data and move domain etc on same day?
It’s react native, you can build for web and mobile simultaneously. Definitely focused on mobile apps though.
Personally I’d coin it as an “update”
Rebuild & get all data pushed over. You’ll have parts like scheduled work flows and such that will be out of whack, you’re going to need to work with your paying users 1:1 or create an onboarding flow that solves the issues that get created when switching.
It won’t always be seemless depending on your app but it’s very possible and many times customers will work with you fully.
Im always drawn to glideapps… They seem to be adding features at an incredible rate. Although, after each evaluation due to limitations I’ve always fallen back to Bubble. However at some point I think they could be viable option hopefully sometime in the near future.
Yup /:
Painful process no matter what. That’s why it’s so important to make sure you’ll only have to do it once, and make sure whatever you move to doesn’t have platform lock-in.
That actually seems like bubbles intent. The new $29 plan is by far enough for anyone to start building a startup, but not notice the upcoming MASSIVE increase in pricing once launched. They will launch, get a few users, and before they scale they will see pricing skyrocket. The sunk cost fallacy of the time they put in to build and the pain of switching and rebuilding will make them stay.
Their new model seems like an intended bait and switch to uneducated non developer types.
Since bubble increased cost so insanely high over time the people who have left will not matter as they’ve locked in plenty new people at a much higher rate. They are destroying the trust their community had in them for $.
Thanks for this, will need to put a plan in place as totally out of my depth.
Waiting eagerly for YouTube tutorials on how to move platforms lol
It’s tough. I’ve spoken to a ton of developers over the past couple of years about it though, and I’m leaning towards React/React-Native front-end hosted on AWS with AWS DBS for the database.
It literally keeps getting worse!
Looks like I’ll have to put a hold on letting any new sign ups join
Now to decide which kidney to sell…
Write down some questions you have, Setup a meeting if you want, I’ll guide you through some of the process completely for free.
Chat GPT is a goldmine. Ask it to make you a plan and then have it drill down on details.
Great idea
And this is why I love this community

Knowing what questions to ask is important though, so I would take Chris up on this.
