I get it, and it makes sense if the price to test it was only 1 month and prorated afterwards.
But what’s the sense on paying 12 months to try the plugin for just 1 day?
pay 44 dollars to try a plugin that’s 4 dollars a month, to me it doesn’t make sense, even if the money is returned later (last time it took some days)
Not counting if Bubble pays any fees to do this kinds of operations, if they do they are losing money for sure.

Why all this talk?
People work, create plugins, spend their time and effort.
If you don’t like it, don’t buy.
You would also suggest limiting prices like Russian oil. Let them sell you plugins for the price you set, not the price the plugin developer sets.
Why not? Very comfortably!

you know, prorated means you can cancel at any time, you don’t need to subscribe for 12 months.
Please familiarize yourself with the policies before making such assumptions.
I know you can cancel anytime, but have to freeze the amount of money it’s left for your annual renovation.
For example, If I’m in an annual plan, and I paid 1 year of bubble 2 months ago, my next bubble’s payment will be in 10 months, right?
So, what bubble does when you subscribe to a plugin, I need to “freeze” 10 months of plugin in my account, because that’s when my annual payment is due. If I cancel 1 day later, I know they will return this money. That’s not the issue.
At least, this is what happened to me, I’m in an annual payment. I tested a plugin for less than 1 day, I allocated 10 months of plugin and got it back some days later.
To speak with specific data:
On Feb 17, 2002 - I’ve started a Personal plan (yearly)
On Feb 18, 2022 - I tested a plugin which price was 7 dollars a month, so it was frozen from my account 84 dollars + 22% IOF (taxes) → I canceled it 1 hour later because it didn’t work as I expected
On Feb 19, 2022 - I sent an email to bubble, just asking how it’s the process, their support was very good, giving me the info I needed, because I also didn’t know if IOF would be refunded or not.
On Feb 21, 2022 - They issued a refund of $83.8, they also said that refunds may take from 5 to 10 days to appear in account.
I don’t know exactly what day my refund appeared, because there is no register in the bank, but both plugin price and IOF were refunded.
That’s the process that happened with me. So since then, I haven’t tested any other plugin, even if I wanted to, because the trouble of this wasn’t worth it to me. (But I’m sure it’s worth it to others)
Very interesting. Most people are on monthly plans, so we only see smaller charges. This is actually really shity for yearly plan holders and should be reviewed.
To clarify, reviewed by bubble, not here. We don’t make the rules.

A simple solution to this problem is to give a 7 day trial window for the plugin. Any plugin developer should be happy to let a user try it for free. It is no loss to the developer and would give everyone a chance to properly vet plugins.
If the plugin doesn’t work they simply cancel it before the 7 day window. If they don’t cancel it they have to pay the amount due without refund for the time period they used the plugin. I think this would make everyone happy and less work processing refunds for Bubble support.
For those of us on the agency plan we can already trial plugins so this doesn’t affect us so glaringly, but I completely understand the frustration realized by those folks not on an agency plan.
