Hi guys, I started a new app this morning following the additive module 2 with Matt.
I have an issue that I cannot figure out. It’s as though there’s a bug in the repeating group.
On my page I set it up firstly is a column and then put a group container on the page inside that the repeating group l. I put a group in the The cell of the repeating group called “group questions cell” and then a text element in that group previewed the page and nothing showed up apart from the outline of the repeating group.
I removed the “group questions cell” I just had the text element in The repeating group. Previewed the page under the outline of the repeating group showed up
I deleted everything and then set up the page exactly the same as Matt did it, I left the entirety as fixed elements and fixed page
I set the content to “question” And the data source to do a search for: question: constraint created date, sort by descending yes
Still the same thing. I cannot get anything to show up in the repeating group no matter what I do
I put a text element just outside the repeating group just on the page and it showed up as it should. Anything inside the repeating group doesn’t show up even if I have The content and the data source set or if they are empty, The same issue.
I copied what Matt did exactly as he did it. It worked for Matt and it doesn’t work for me.
This is a really silly issue to have and I cannot figure out why it’s not showing because it should.
I even deleted the entire app and started again from the beginning.
Also, my apps are not loading the pre-built bubble reusable elements or the sign up forms the header. Anything like that. They’re not being populated into the app instead of create. Is there a reason for that?

I thought about that. But even when I’m following along with Matt in previous videos he puts a text box in the group and just shows “edit me …” As it’s a static text… Which is what I tried to show. So the database shouldn’t effect it

@Nobi Good morning, I have another repeating group on the question page. I added a button to answer the question as Matt has done i the bootcamp. Followed along and made my groups reference the parent groups which reference the page content. But the button wont display. This makes no sense to me as I have done it the way Matt did it and he refreshed the page and the button displayed. Mine does not, this button is never in the DB so it should display in the group. I have made RG’s before and not had this problem and I do not understand what Im doing incorrectly here.
This is even more frustrating as its the same issue I had yesterday. I must have something set up incorrectly but I rewatched the Bootcamp over and over and redid the RG with no change in the problem. (I will take a break and come back to it later anyway… getting emotional here hahahaha )
Ok so the constraint in the Answer RG "question=parent groups question was the issue. Data source in the RG: do a search for… Would just be Answers with the no constraints.
I’m adding this so that in future if someone find the post with a related issue this could help them.
So this solution has resulted in another issue. As there are no constraints in the RG Answers, the app is now requesting ALL answers from the DB. This means that no matter what question I click on all answers are returned. So I have to be able to put the constraint to reference the parent groups question. However when I do this as was already mentioned then nothing is returned.
This is the way Matt set it up in the bootcamp and it works for him… So has something changed in bubble’s expression workflows that means the way he set it up doesnt work anymore?
If I can’t use constraints to filter the answers to suit the selected question then how does one achieve this?
This is just a comment to close off this thread. I got the repeating group to finally work but I have no idea how. It still seams to be set up as the original post but just oneday I canme to it and it works. Sorry there cant be a more definitive solution to this issue for future reference
