Let me start by saying I love what I’ve seen of Bubble.io! It resolves all the major issues I’ve had with low code in the past - analytics, ui design, versioning and environment management.
HOWEVER at this point it seems to good to be true, so what’s the catch? I’m looking to start a SaaS business using Bubble.io - I know it’s what it’s designed for, but where will I struggle? It’s a B2B app which uses reasonable amounts of data and external API’s.
The struggle for me is probably scheduling deployment times. Because Bubble doesn’t have an option to schedule when updates are pushed, it all has to be done during in my time zone (usually when my peak times are).
We are into Marketing automation Saas and have been using Bubble to Build our product from scratch and bubble has been able to cope up with all sort of data requirements which we require, be it external data in huge amounts to designing a clean UI/ux.
The only concern which we had with bubble is the speed at which page loads, It certainly takes longer than expected. We wish bubble could make the apps faster, apart from that, I don’t see any major hindrance and we are working with B2B clients.
It works better than pretty much any other stack that I have tried for agile/mvp development, all the way through 1.0 release and beyond. My frustration has been around some of the limitations on how data is handled, and scheduled workflows. A lot of things in another environment I would handle with scripts and schedulers is a little clunky. I feel like I am doing a workaround to schedule a task that runs every morning, for instance.
