Setting up custom domain with cloudflare

Trying to set up a custom domain using Cloudflare & Bubble. I followed the instructions exactly as laid out in Bubble, adding the A records for ‘@’ and ‘www’ with the IP addresses specified. I am getting an ‘Error 1000’ when I try to load the preview, The error reads: *You’ve requested a page on a website (bookwithrove.com) that is on the Cloudflare network. Unfortunately, it is resolving to an IP address that is creating a conflict within Cloudflare’s system. *If you are the owner of this website:
you should login to Cloudflare and change the DNS A records for bookwithrove.com to resolve to a different IP address.

However, as mentioned, I specified the IP address exactly as Bubble required in Settings - Domain/email.

I also see that when I click ‘Check my settings’ in Bubble, it’s telling me that they found bad DNS records of the type AAAA which I do not recognize, as well as records pointing to servers that do not belong to Bubble of the type A (which I also do not recognize). Not sure where these are coming from.

It will take some time for the settings to propagate. Give it a few hours. I had the same experience.

Another thing to watch out for is existing www records in your DNS. Make sure there aren’t conflicting A or CNAME records in your DNS.

It looks like the website is exposing a third A record in addition to the two Bubble gave you. Check what that third A record is for. If it is redundant, delete it. Of course, backup the DNS before making any changes.

Thanks… none of those records are actually the ones that Bubble gave me. (Those are the records not pointing to Bubble that I have never seen before and do not recognize)

Who is the domain with? I have GoDaddy and can possibly help if you have GoDaddy. Other hosting should also be the same. It might just be a matter of waiting for a bit. It will help if you can share a screenshot of the DNS records you are seeing on the host.

Hey, @amosjshinkle!

I have the same problem…

Did you figured out how to solve it?

I appreciate your answer.

Hi @deadpoetnsp, I have the same problem as @filipefrancopersonal and @amosjshinkle.
I’ve set up my DNS in Cloudflare as instructed in Bubble. I did this approx 24h ago. Yet I’m now getting an Error 1000 and using Dig I can’t see the A records I set up in cloudflare. :s .
Any chance you can point me in the right direction? All help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Seems like I just found the solution. In cloudflare I had to change the 4 A records to DNS only instead of proxied. I did that and 5 minutes later it was working.

Yeah it has to go directly to Bubble for it to work, so no proxy.

Exactly, @teetime! It worked for me as well!
