States must evaluate to "yes" or "no", but this is a List of yes / nosList of Yes or not

Note to bubble, I understand the ask to “Please pick a subcategory to help organize the information. Thanks!” It seems the sub-categories you list are not very pertinent to your users.

I have a genetic problem that I know there are workarounds for that would seem to be more effectively dealt with some built-in feature. The issue is so common I am going to assume that I am just missing the simple way.

The issue: In either searching for records in the DB or setting conditions for an element there are many times I want the test to be “if a list of records has a certain value like no, then…” However, bubble says this evaluates to a list of yes or nos (which I know, please check them ALL). From my experience, the “contains” feature can’t be used with a text I enter. It seems I can only point this check to another DB field. Why can’t the ‘is “yes”’ check be extended beyond checking one specific field in a record?

Thanks for your help. I have created some fairly advanced filters myself. I wonder if sometimes I am making it harder than it is because some of the advanced filters seem they should be in the default list.
