Feature request: Deploying without the "This app has just been updated" banner | Bubble
This request — to allow live updates without forcing users to refresh or lose progress — was posted over 5 years ago and remains unresolved.
Common counterarguments, addressed:
- “Just auto-refresh the page.”
This is the issue. Auto-refreshes interrupt users mid-task and risk data loss. - “Use autosave or plugins.”
These are limited workarounds that add complexity and don’t fully solve the problem. - “Other apps refresh too.”
Most modern platforms handle this gracefully — versioning changes, preserving sessions, and prompting users only when needed.
Traditional dev environments offer:
- Zero-downtime deploys
- State/session preservation
- Controlled or deferred updates
- A seamless experience for users
This kind of seamless deployment isn’t just a nice-to-have — it’s expected in any production-grade platform today.
When Bubble launched, 13 years ago, this limitation may have made sense. But in 2025, with more businesses relying on Bubble for serious, high-traffic apps, this really feels like a foundational feature that should already be in place.
It would be great to get clarity:
Is this on the roadmap? Technically difficult? Still under consideration?
The community would really appreciate transparency on what’s holding this back.
Thank you
