Have anyone tried to use Stripe for a platform based in the UAE? Specially platform that uses Stripe Connect, and cross-border payouts.
Etsy-Like Platform that specializes in digital assets.
So here is the scenario brief:
- Sellers register their Store within our platform
- Add Products to their Store “within platform”
- Products show up for logged-in and logged-out users
- Buyers "either logged-in or logged-out buy the product
- 10 Days Delay “To make sure that the digital product sent to the buyer is as described on their product page”
-
- If no complaints are registered, they pay the seller 90%, and keep 10%
-
- If the complaint is registered and confirmed, we refund the 100%-transactions fee.
Here is the BIG Issue, we can’t use Stripe Connect because the platform is based in UAE-Dubai, Sellers in our case Must have an established business in UAE, while most of our sellers are located all over the world.
Connect availability in the UAE : Stripe: Help & Support.
Will really appreciate your help.
Checkout fastspring or bluesnap
Also there is the option of registering a US company

Hi, what did you do in the end? Would you please share your experience? Thanks
Unfortunately no, the best solution was to incorporate our company again in Delware through Stripe Atlas, we are still in the process it takes time, but to be honest after going through a lot, it was not a smart decision to incorporate in UAE the 1st place due to our business model, but if your business model and customers are going to be mostly inside UAE, so I would recommend using Stripe.
Hope that was helpful.
I am building a marketplace, so Stripe Connect would be perfect for it. Except for the fact that although I could open my company in the US, apparently, merchants should also be in a Stripe supported country, so they would all have to open companies in US (or any other supported company) to be able to sell in my marketplace. This is obviously a big obstacle for people who want to sell in my marketplace, so I guess Stripe is not an option for me
Thanks for sharing your experience
