Stripe.js - The most powerful payments plugin for Bubble. šŸ’³

Hi Bubblers, hi @copilot,
I’m trying to migrate from version 1.8.10 to 1.9.85 to be in line with SCA parameters, but many functions are missing for the integration of a marketplace, like all the actions and data calls in which the seller is involved.
Is it currently not possible to create a client for a custom seller account, and manage the payment workflow as in version 1.8.10 (seller-create customer -> seller-charge customer)?
thank you so much

Hi @copilot,

Any news on the Stripe.js 2.0 release? or the video course release Platform Payments 2.

All previous announcements stated an October release, but we are fast approaching November in a day or so. Eagerly awaiting!

I bought the video course for version 1.8.10 and spent a few months implementing into my app. Now thanks to the EU’s new shiny regulation, all my workflows are worthless… I would really like to get to work implementing paymentIntents and SCA stuff so i can finally launch my app!

I’ve invested a lot of time with bubble platform and Copilot plugins so any info is greatly appreciated

Any update on Stripe.js 2 ?

Hey everyone,

Stripe.js 2 is the milestone-release that is available to you even now as Version 1.9.x so you can transition seamlessly upon the full release. Current backlog are some recent changes to Stripe’s Payments API, a couple Bubble Plugin bugs and reproduction of our Platform Payments course. We have wonderful sponsors who are making this possible, and we’ll be able to accelerate our output with more support.

We’re well on our way!

Hi @copilot, Thanks for the update, i am trying my best to figure out the workflow for payment Intents to add a subscription instead of make a payment. I would say im 90% of the way there, there is just something missing from my workflow, do you think i will have to wait for the Platform Payments 2 course to be released, or is this something that i can book a session for?

Kind regards,

You could use the API connector to make your own calls. I have just implemented Stripe connect subscriptions via the API connector.

Shout if you need a hand

hello @simon, I would be interested ? Did you watch a tutorial somewhere ? Thank you !

No just read the API docs then some trial and error. I am not convinced it works for all models it really means the account receiving the subscription needs to be a business as they have to do a full business signup via stripe because they need to accept card_payments. So depending on what you are building this maybe overkill for your customers.

Shout if you need a specific answer or want to jump on a call

Ok thank you @simon ! I will try of my own then !

On another note,

@copilot would you have any idea why i am not receiving any data from external API, when trying to use stripe.js 1.9.85.

When i try to get information such as ā€˜retrieve a subscription’, i have input the users subscription ID but it returns nothing:

35

It does this for all of the call options.

Thank you,

Hello,

does anyone know why, when creating a payment intent with ā€œStripe.js -Paymentintent - createā€ is not possible to create direct payments to seller?

Only Transfer type works, but i find added fees on my platform account, while i’d like to charge thme to seller.

Thanks,

Hi @copilot, I know you are hard at work on this and I feel like I’m interrupting, but is it possible to get an update on the ETA of Stripe.js 2.0 and Platform Payments 2 course?

Thank you!

@copilot Hi guys. Is there any way of removing the ā€œZIPā€ in the Stripe Element?
Most of my customers will be EU and UK based, and this format doesn’t work for them.

Thanks!

Hey @mattb,

We’re looking to support many styling options including postal code for the Stripe Element.

Sounds good. I worked a little with the form and it is pretty basic. It would be great to have the usual styling options such as border, background, shadow etc.

Whilst I have you here, do you have an ETA for the Payments 2 course on your website? I note it states you were aiming for November…

@copilot Hi guys. I’m hoping you can give a progress update for Stripe 2.0 and the courses on your website.

Personally I would like to know what type of functionality the release will have for Connect. I’ve been discussing this here: Stripe Express accepted method of connecting?
The Elements feature is also of interest to me.

Your Payments 2 course states you were aiming for November, so a little behind schedule. It’s really difficult to even try and implement the beta version without at least some documentation.

I have complex payment requirements which are holding me back from release, so I (and I’m sure many other bubblers) would appreciate an extended update from you.

Thanks guys.

Hey @mattb,

We do our best to deliver usable features to the Bubble community. Like with any community-resource that no one is charge a dime for, we have to justify and accommodate development within our core work to remain viable and reliable to our business and customers.

We’re behind on a number of updates for Stripe.js and consequently, the course seeing as producing an incomplete course is less than helpful. Should you be eager to implement features, you can look to developing features on your own so you’re unblocked or you can support us by reaching out for a sponsorship.

We also want to see our next course off the ground, we just have to get it right.

Appreciate the update and understand that paid development takes presidence over free resources.

With that in mind, and with the fact that users utilising Stripe are likely gaining an income stream, have you thought about charging for the plugin? I think it’s great that this plugin is free, however I would be willing to pay for a resource that has support readily available.

We appreciate the feedback @mattb! Stripe.js was once offered as a premium plugin and though we did see financial support, it was arguably neglegible and came at the larger cost of adoption. We want to propel the Bubble community versus hinder it’s growth, so we’ll keep finding ways (like sponsorships) to help grow our community contributions and Bubble in the process.

Hi @copilot, is a January release of 2.0 looking likely? Just trying to organise my work accordingly. Thanks!
