“Sorry, this seller cannot accept payments right now due to a temporary error. Please try again later.”
When I look at my Stripe dashboard I can that they are registered and their stripe ID is the same in Stripe as it is on my platform/in Bubble. His email address is also the same (this is required to get this far when connecting Stripe to Bubble, I believe).
I’ve run some tests as other users and all other payments seem to be going through as expected.
Any ideas on what the issue might be or where else I can try to problem solve?
Stripe just emailed me to say that they don’t think the issue is on their end. I can’t understand what the problem is because I can’t recreate the error with other accounts. I can only confirm that this one user can’t get paid and that window in the top center of the screenshot above is the only bit of data I have to go on.
Hi sorensong,
This is now resolved. I’m not sure what caused the issue but somehow the user seemed to have a Stripe account that wasn’t verified but, and this is where it got complicated, he was still able to get to his dashboard as if it was verified. He’d try to verify his Stripe account via his Stripe dashboard’s button that said something like “verify your account” but then see an error that a user with the same email already existed.
I wasn’t able to see the customer support (at Stripe) through to the end because it was for a connected account issue, but my user was in touch with Stripe and got it resolved.
It was a very slow and painful process to deal with Stripe on this one. My emails were answered by a different person each time so it took forever to get anything helpful back. If you’re dealing with something similar with Stripe I suggest watching your email like a hawk… if you reply to them right away you have a tiny shot of getting the same person to read and reply.
