Thank you everyone for the feedback I really appreciate it!
I’ve also been eagerly reading private feedback and questions regarding different sections of the book. Haven’t been able to reply to everything, but I will!
Book updates
Based on feedback and questions, I’m going to update some sections of the book. Some of it is simply poor writing, where readers have been confused by how I described it. There are also a few examples of me using an example to illustrate a point that makes sense from a performance perspective, but may affect other parts of your app (such as security) in a negative way. I’d like to correct that to use examples that are “neutral” in terms of affecting other priorities and metrics, or describe it clearly if it there are concerns you should know about.
Finally, there are things where questions and new perspectives about how the Bubble engine handles certain things that I’m looking into to make sure the info in the book is correct and up to date.
I’ll post an update on the website with revisions, so that you don’t have to read the whole thing again. Everyone who purchased the book will receive an email with access to the new revision when available, though I can’t promise exactly when that will be yet.
Pricing
Wanted to give a head’s up that I’m changing the introductory pricing on Monday. I’m not completely sure what it’ll look like yet, but the floor price will be heightened somewhat, so to those who want to get it at the lowest possible price, I recommend doing so now
Ratings
If you liked the book, you’ll really help me out if you a rate it on Gumroad
Good work Petter.
I think sometimes we (at least I) don’t share how we solve complex problems because someone else might have a different and potentially better way. So good work adding adjusting sections as new info comes up, hopefully collaboration like this can help us come up with some good standards for advanced Bubbling
This is great! I’ve started reading it about 70 pages in !! Definitely planning on changing the way I do certain things with the database, etc.
5 stars so far!
Already bought 4 days ago…very intesting, love the way it reconstructed puzzles in my head after 2 years more bubbling. Tks!

Good work - looks excellent
Thanks for the feedback guys!

Agreed! The forum has been and continues to be a fantastic source of information and discussion, but it can be difficult to organize and aggregate. I think we all have an interest in developing best practices and solutions that help push the platform forward.
Hello @petter, I just bought it now and I read it quickly. It looks nice Thanks, happy to read it in details and make you a feedback
I tried to buy on Gumroad, but the payment system doesn’t work.
I filled my credit card two times. I hope they didn’t steal my data
Gumroad is very legit
Hi Petter,
I I bought it through Paypal but when Paypal tried to get me back to the site, it did not work.
Can you please check if I paid for it and tell me how to get it?

The sample apps I’ve seen are indeed slow, but I believe that’s because they likely are on the hobby plan. I have two apps in production that are data intensive and they’re much faster than the sample apps I’ve seen. I’ve yet to receive a single complaint about speed.
@AlexFromParis
I’ve sent you a forum DM.

Hi,
Sorry for the late reply. Did you get access to the book in the end? Let me know in a PM if you want me to check your purchase.
I’d like to let you, but these are proprietary systems for two different companies.
Been dying for a book to learn about performance being new to Bubble. I’ve paid $10 (I’m from the UK so meant for it to be £10 so would’ve been $13.50 odd apologies. I’d give more but I’m skiiiint at the moment!
I’ll read through it over the next few days and review you on Gumroad soon!
Thanks!
~ Ash
It just worked for me two days ago.
I hope you had better luck eventually…?
Excellent, thanks Petter. I hope my contribution covers at least a couple of coffees . Learning a lot, first a-ha moment:
the top features of the app are loaded on the main page for quick navigation, but features that are not needed as frequently require a page change.
I’ve been overloading my backend app with stuff that is not frequently needed.
I bought the book and I really like it. Well done @petter!
What I didn’t like as much was that my bank flagged for suspicious activity and deactivated my credit card.
I didn’t get a strange feeling at all when paying but if it’s happening to more people it might be worth considering a payment provider switch.
Thanks for the feedback guys!
@anders.eidergard
Several users (a small minority, but still) have reported the same thing actually. Gumroad (while definitely legit in itself) does seem to struggle with transactions being flagged by some banks, for reasons I don’t know at the moment unfortunately.
I’m sorry if it caused you problems, hope it worked out with the card. What I’ve heard from others is that the bank would call them as an extra precaution before accepting the transaction, but this is the first where the card has been dectivated to my knowledge.
Will keep an eye on this…
Starting getting interested in no-code recently so picked up a copy to learn more
