:key:What is the HexaEight Authentication Plugin?

The HexaEight plugin enables effortless integration of HexaEight Token Servers with your Bubble app, creating a scalable, secure authentication system that ensures only authorized users can access your application.

Key Features of the One-Time Access Code (Captcha Token):

  • A unique one-time access code is generated each time a new session is created.
  • The secure code is delivered to the user’s mobile app via HexaEight’s patent-pending encryption algorithm.
  • The mobile app will only receive a code if a session is initiated by the front end.
  • No need for user registration or sign-up pages.
  • Eliminates the hassle of password resets.
  • Use JWT to implement single sign-on (SSO) in external applications with your own secret.
  • Your Bubble app’s database only contains user email addresses, with no passwords or password hashes.
  • Integrate either the front-end or back-end login API flow during authentication.

How Does It Work?

The HexaEight Authentication Plugin works as follows:

  1. Generates a random session code and stores it in S3 (AWS, Cloudflare, or any other S3 provider).
  2. Displays the session code and the HexaEight Token Server URL in the Bubble app for fetching the secure code.
  3. End users install the HexaEight Authenticator Mobile App and configure it to use the HexaEight Token Server.
  4. Users request a one-time access code via the Captcha Token using the session code.
  5. Users enter the one-time access code in the Bubble app, which validates the code through the HexaEight plugin and grants access to the application.

Cost:

The HexaEight Authentication Plugin requires a valid HexaEight Token Server installed on-premises or in the cloud. You also need to integrate the Token Server with S3 to authenticate users.

  • The cost for running a single HexaEight Token Server on a 1-core CPU machine is approximately $72 per month.
  • Once set up, your Bubble app can authenticate unlimited users at no additional cost.
