Upgrading Bubble Versions on a Live App

Hi,

I keep getting alerts to upgrade my bubble version on a live app I have running.

I’m terrified to do this because usually, in life, this action breaks things.

What do those of you that have live apps running through bubble do when you get these upgrade notifications?

Is it necessary, or can I just keep things running “as is” indefinitely for this app and use newer versions of bubble for other apps?

Wondering if anyone has any input on this. Will it break everything if I update? Will it stop working if I don’t update? Anyone have a live app?

Yes, this is a question that some of us have. Not just with new Bubble versions, but with new plugin versions. Especially some who release new versions every single day “just to update marketing stuff,” but I’ve encountered bugs and other issues. And some mass plugin creators who fail to provide the proper support they should, so when they try to fix one bug, they create two more — sometimes those silent bugs that are the worst.

One of my active apps is on an old version, and I’m a little wary of updating directly to the latest version, especially because since I remember, you can only revert to a version prior to the current one, but maybe this has changed.

So I think the ideal would be to go slowly and test each new update until you reach the most recent one. You can check what each new update promises to change in the changelog and then focus on verifying those things.
