Validating a parameter passed in the URL?

I’m passing an extra parameter in a URL (domain.com/page?parameter=number

the number actually exists in a table. Is there a way to pass that parameter to validate if it exists? I want to show an error if it doesn’t.

In the destination page, do this in Workflows

When page is loaded
Show popup error when “Do a search for things with Fieldname= Get data from URL with parameter name”: count is 0
