I have exactly the same problem and I assume that you are using chrome. The reason to this problem, is the new autoplay policies that chrome launched with its new update. I’ve reached out to the bubble support in order to find a solution to this.
Something ain’t right. I’m also seeing this message
What’s worse, is when I view this from a non-cached session both the video and the fallback image do not load resulting in a BLACK background… yuck.
From ‘Autoplay Policy Changes’ - part of chrome’s latest release notes:
… in order to improve the user experience, minimize incentives to install ad blockers, and reduce data consumption on expensive and/or constrained networks. These changes are intended to give greater control of playback to users and to benefit publishers with legitimate use cases."
Chrome’s autoplay policies are simple:
Muted autoplay is always allowed.
Autoplay with sound is allowed if:
User has interacted with the domain (click, tap, etc.).
On desktop, the user’s Media Engagement Index threshold has been crossed, meaning the user has previously play video with sound.
On mobile, the user has added the site to his or her home screen.
Top frames can delegate autoplay permission to their iframes to allow autoplay with sound.
Not sure why a silent autoplay isn’t working on bubble.
Yeah, I read that too. It’s strange. I had to redesign my page without the video. Based on my conversation with the bubble support, I think they are working on it.
I am having a problem with video play back on firefox. It works on google chrome and safari on a macbook…anybody know a way to get to work on all browsers?
