Hey everyone,
I’m fairly new to Bubble as I’m currently shifting careers, however in the last three months I’ve finished all 5 Buildcamp courses and built 95% of my first app and portfolio website (I’m hoping to have all this stuff live by the end of the month). Anyway, my question is whether or not it would be worth me going to BubbleCon this early on in my career?
I live in Australia, so it would be quite the expense (although I can get the flights on points currently), but I feel that actually meeting people and networking in person might help jumpstart my career and get me some gigs (which I very much need as I’ve been mostly out of work since May while I’ve skilled up).
Anyway, any thoughts, advice or feedback would be welcome as I need to make a decision soon if I’m going to book flights.
You might be better off using the funds and time to advertise your services locally, and do digital outreach to existing agencies to try and secure some gigs. You can browse the agency listings on bubble site and send some emails, or reach out to owners via the forum.
I personally do not view BubbleCon as an event that would help jumpstart a career. The talks are likely going to focus on the same information the speakers currently have online or in the courses they sell. The audience is likely enthusiastic users/developers, who are likely active on the forum or on social media sites.

I’m going for the first time, but would expect it to be agencies and developers rather than potential clients. I’m not going to ‘earn back’ the money it costs to go in new business, but it will allow me to meet cool people and learn cool things.

Thanks for the insights, it definitely helps me come to a decision which sadly is, no BubbleCon for me this year.
