Workload usage spike detected! Clarifications please

Hi bubbles,

until yesterday I was on the Personal Bubble Plan… today I switched to the Starter plan since the change was due max on the 1 October 2024.

After one hour that I switched to the Starter plan I had a Workload Usage Spiked warning but I do not understand why.

The Starter plan have 175 K workload per month and since the 1 August 2024 my live app have used only 23 K so the 13% of the total monthly capacity.

Usually my live app run around 40 K workload per mont, way less than the limit…

That’s why I’m not getting the reason why I had the Workload Usage Spiked warning.

I have some weekly scheduler that runs backhand workflow but I always had them and never get any warning.

The data of the last 30 days are:

Fetching Data: 50.58% (20346 WU)
Workflow: 42.65% (17156 WU)
Page Load: 6.27% (2524WU)
External Api Requests: 0.35% (140 WU)
Recurring Workflows: 0.14% (57 WU)
Scheduled Workflows: 0.01% (3.09 WU)
File Uploads: 0.00% (0.20 WU)

If I see my workload activity from yesterday I can see that have been used 3357 K workloads divided by:

Fetching Data: 55.48% (1862 WU)
Workflow: 38.29% (1286 WU)
Page Load: 3.88% (130 WU)
External Api Requests: 2.01% (67.42 WU)

The day before was 207 workloads divided by:

Fetching Data: 43.92% (90.89 WU)
Workflow: 40.09% (89.17 WU)
Page Load: 11,25% (23.29 WU)
Recurring Workflows: 0.93% (1.92 WU)
External Api Requests: 0.81% (1.68 WU)

I know maybe the difference between the two days can look huge but it’s quite normal for my app since I run an app that provide digital restaurant menu so some days (and in specific hours like for lunch and dinner) can be used less some other days more…

I’m running my live app since some years and never faced any issue.

Do you think I should be worried about the Workload Usage Spiked warning or just ignore it ?

Many thanks in advance for your replies.

Best regards,

Andrea.

Hi there,

Those workload unit spike notifications are sent when your average workload usage increases but a certain amount, just in case it was caused by something unintentional.

For example, if your app was using ~100WU a day, and then you suddenly used 500 in a single day, you’d most likely trigger the spike warning.

In your case, it seems you have a good understanding of your apps consumption and aren’t even close to exceeding the monthly allotment, so you’ll be fine to ignore it.

Thank you so much for your reply!
I thought I could ignore it, but anyway I was panicking.
Best regards.
