Add list to connect two different (alternative) parts

Hi,

Sorry to be asking yet another question- but I’m having trouble making this workflow work for me.

When I add a new part, it also allows the user to link alternative parts. I was hoping that within this workflow, when adding the alternative parts to this list, it would automatically link the new part with the alternative parts list on the alternative part.

For example, I have part A , B and C in my database already. When I create part D, I know that part A and B can also be used as alternatives, so I add them to my ‘alternative parts’ list. I want Part D to also be added to my Part A and B ‘alternative parts’ list too.

I thought the way to do that would be in step 2 below, but it seems to add the list to the wrong parts.

Hi Do you think this would work for you?

Step 1: Create a new part
Step 2: Make changes to Result of Step 1(Create a new part) -> Alternative parts set list: add part alternative input's value plus item Result of Step 1(Create a new part)

This is assuming your have a data type named 'Parts' which has a field 'Alternative parts' of type: 'List of parts'
It would look like this:

Many thanks for this suggestion. Typically, after submitting the question, I think I have figured it out. I think I might have solved it with this:

I’ll continue to test and if this doesn’t work, I will use your suggestion.
