Always-on video chat room build

Hello gang,

I need to build an always-on video chat app for my companies employees. I’m trying to determine if this is even possible with bubble + what plugins would be most applicable.

Must-haves:

  • upon login you enter chat room showing individual always-on video stream thumbnails of up to 30 user
  • ability to click any video stream thumbnail to quickly begin a chat between two users
  • alert is shown on or near video thumbnail of users chatting together
  • ability for third user to join in the chat by clicking on thumbnail of a user in a private chat – allowed in by one of original private chat users
  • private chat should be able to accommodate entire user group

nice-to-haves:

  • ability to downgrade video streaming quality for thumbnails – upgrade while in private video chat

Thoughts? This will be my first build on bubble… if even possible.

Doing this sounds possible, consider looking into Jitsi. There is a whole host of features it offers and several tutorials and posts in the forum about it. Jitsi by itself is free, and someone has made a plugin for it. I can’t give you direction on your use case as I haven’t started working with video chat on my app yet. However, have fun looking into Jitsi.
