Arbitrary Text - move data around

Hello. Does anyone have suggestions for a quicker or more efficient method to move data around within “arbitrary text”?

I’ve got a lot of dynamic data embedded in arbitrary text, but I’m struggling to move the dynamic data around in a simple way. When I attempt to do so using the “Rich text editor,” I encounter an error message: “You’ve modified some dynamic data; the content has been reverted to its original version.”

Any insights would be greatly appreciated

I’ve encountered this as well and believe it is a bug because it was not always the case that this happened. You might want to report a bug.

Otherwise the best way is to right click the dynamic expression, copy it, then clear it, then click to where you want to place it and right click and paste the expression.

Thanks Boston. If I right-click and select “Copy Expression,” the expression doesn’t seem to copy either.

You have to paste it into an empty dynamic expression.
If you don’t paste it into a dynamic expression then it wont work.

A useful consequence of this is that when using bubble you actualy have two copy slots, one for dynamic expressions and one for full expressions (and full expressions can contain dynamic expeessions)

You need to right click directly on the dynamic expression and select from the 3 choices, clear, copy or paste dynamic expression…you need to select copy expression

You need to right click into the input area (so not on the dynamic expression directly) and select from the 5 choices copy all…but that gets all dynamic and static values which you do not want @nate9

If true, submit a bug report

Thanks for all your support. I found the solution in case you want to use it in the future:

  1. Copy/duplicate the step in the process.
  2. Clear the dynamic expressions you want to rearrange. Note: leave the click options, do not delete them.
  3. Go to the duplicated step and copy each expression in the order required by right-clicking the “click” option.

I hope this makes sense. Give me a buzz if you need help. It’s really simple when you know how.
