When I share my site on social media, the metadata description I have isn’t showing up at all. And when I send the link as a message via Fb messenger for example, it actually shows bubble.is’ description. Is there a way to fix this or turn off sharing of the description altogether if not?

Check this page out to see what tags Facebook is scraping https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ It’s possible that Facebook has cached old info. If so, you can request them to grab the new info. If not, verify your app settings and social meta tags on the relevant pages.
