Database is very slow

Hi,

My database is very slow, and often takes minutes to load (after several refreshes and clicking around).

I’m wondering if Bubble has responded to this, and if it’s a known issue?

I found a similar thread from October 2024, and no responses from the Bubble team.

Curious if anyone has input, or ways to speed up the database loading?

Seems like a Bubble outage or something similar. I’m experiencing the same thing on my hobby app.

It’s been like this for a while, and I only experience the issues on my live database (with far more entries), rather than the dev database only.

I don’t see the error message you posted, rather it’s just extremely slow.

So I’m guessing it’s some deeper issue, but ultimately not sure if it’s a new or ongoing bug.

The above post from October '24 is what I’m experiencing as well.

Same here.

All databases, paid and non paid, nearly 5 million instances are spread across just 8 database instances… it’s only going to get worse because the focus is lowering the bar for new users rather than provide usability for existing clients. I think they once promised geo-distributed servers to allow for better complaince, performance and hopefully stability but then AI came around.

how did you get these numbers specifically 8 database instance ?

Slight correction but it’s from Josh’s post - Platform Stability Update

move to xano/supabase and have ur own instance, region etc. 5-10x faster than bubble.

the most benefit is u can use sql and have 1 table with different views that synced all time rather than separate tables per business logics.

with ai help it much more easier to get into

I have been testing supabase and wow they do database right!

I wish bubble would take some of what supabase does and put it into bubble because the bubble database backend is so basic and buggy.

Being able to see database flowchart in supabase is hugely helpful, plus the AI database builder and so many other features - they’d be hugely helpful in bubble.

Anyone of you had a good experience with the stack Bubble + Supabase? How did this went? Did you used a plugin for the connexion between them?

I haven’t used supabase with bubble - I think that kind of defeats the purpose of bubble (all in one)

I would love to see a native integrate between bubble and supabase - that would be a huge game changer… but I doubt that’ll ever happen since it would reduce WU fees.
