Domain Confusion

I purchased a domain name from godaddy (plantbabiesai.com) and created a “temporary” website. I am creating the “real” website on bubble.io, which is where I want the godaddy domain to point to. What exactly do I need to do in godaddy? what exactly do I need to do in bubble? so that plantbabiesai.com opens the webpage I created on bubble.io? I’m trying to follow instructions, but its not working.

When you go to settings domain tab in bubble, set the domain there.

It will show 4 or 8 A records.

Configure those in GoDaddy.

While configuring in GoDaddy, it may throw some error about conflict.

You’ll need to remove A or CNAME records in GoDaddy pointing to the old website in GoDaddy

When the Domain starts pointing to the bubble, app will start working

There is a nice video by bubble on setting up domains. I think it covers GoDaddy

Thank you, @ZubairLK , I tried that, but it keeps telling me "Sorry, someone already has an app hosted at plantbabiesai.com.

Maybe it wants you to delete your temporary app first?

Thank you @AndyMountHood . I’m not sure how to do that, but I see a line item for the domain name in godaddy, but when I click the delete button it tells me it may make parts of my products not work properly. I’m afraid of what that might mean, so I didn’t delete it.

I’m still really struggling getting my domain/hosting figured out. I can’t find a way to contact bubble directly. Does anybody know how to get support other than the online forums and documentation? Or - can anybody point me in the right direction.

These are the steps I’ve taken.

  1. I deleted my products in bubble as recommended.
  2. I gave GoDaddy my records - A & Cname
  3. GoDaddy updated my DNS records for me
  4. When I tried to access my website plantbabies.ai, I got an Error 1001 DNS resolution error as described below.
  5. I was surprised to see anything about Cloudflare as I had never heard of them before.
  6. GoDaddy confirmed Cloudflare is also a provider like GoDaddy and bubble and asked that I check with them.
  7. There was no Cloudflare contact info in the error message

Current status: I don’t know what to do next. I’ve been ready to publish my website to plantbabies.ai on bubble for over a month, but still can’t get the domain configuration all figured out.

Has anybody else ever experienced this and how did you resolve it?

Error 1001 DNS resolution error
You’ve requested a page on a website (plantbabies.ai) that is on the Cloudflare network. Cloudfare is currently unable to resolve my requested domain (plantbabies.ai). There are two potential causes of this.

Most likely: If the owner just signed up for Cloudflare it can take a few minutes for the website’s information to be distributed to our global network.

Less likely: something is wrong with the site’s configuration. Usually this happens when accounts have been signed up with a partner organization (e.g., a hosting provider)( and the provider’s DNS fails.

I haven’t gone far enough to publish my app yet myself, but I can point you to Bubble support. At the top of the main Bubble page, there’s a Support menu with a Contact Us link. Likewise, at the top of the Bubble forum’s main page (not this page), there’s a “Get in touch with Bubble support” link. You’ll probably end up opening a ticket and waiting for them to get in touch with you.
