how do i create a button that takes user to an external link, from an input form that they added.

I created the input form that collects that collects the added web links but when I go to add the dynamic data (input web link) it ask me for a destination for a page on my website

anyone got answer to this ?

Try using a workflow on when button is clicked, go to open external website, and put the destination in there.

this solution looks very similar to the images you have used so I’m not sure where your issue is exactly. Good luck

Hello, my friend! I hope you’re having a wonderful day.

I understand the problem you’re facing. It seems that you are encountering an issue with adding the “'link” at the end of your expression. Just to clarify, the word “link” refers to the link of your thing on your website.

To resolve this, you’ll need to store the link that the user inputs in a separate field. Once you’ve done that, you can refer to this field in your expression. For instance, if you name the field “source,” the correct expression would be: “(parent’s group’s course’s source).”

By following this approach, the button will direct users to the external link they entered in the input form without prompting for a destination on your website.

I hope this explanation clears things up for you. Should you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. Best of luck with your project!

Thanks for the response sam but the external website i want the user to go to is a link that a diffrent user as inputed

it’s still gives me the same issue. When i go in to insert the dynamic data the input where the user entered a link is not showing up.

Do you create new fields or custom states for the link and store the data within them?

i only created a new data type (“website”) and a new field under that (“link”) am i supposed to create custom states(if yes, how does one do that?)

Creating a new data type (“website”) and adding a new field under it (“link”) will be sufficient.
I have simulated your situation and created a new data type (“website”) with an additional field (“link”) under it.
this is my workflow and it worked like below:
