Make pop up (reusable element) visible when a button is pressed

As the title suggests, I don’t manage to make a custom sign up pop up to be visible when button sign up is pressed. How can I do this?

Is the sign up button part of a reusable element? If yes, then the popup needs to be part of the reusable element.
