Need some help - Bubble says my app is owned by someone else

I’m hoping someone here has seen something like this before because I’m completely stuck.

A while back I built an app called getpeerrate. I paid for the Bubble account, plugins, domain, etc. I hired a Fiverr developer, but he was invited into my Bubble app as a developer. He wasn’t building it under his own account.

Life happened and I stepped away for a few months because of family issues.

When I came back:

  • My Bubble login didn’t work.
  • The app was gone.
  • The domain was down.
  • My plugins were gone.

While digging through my email I found a message from April saying my Bubble login email had been changed.

Support originally said they were going to investigate the email change, ownership history, and audit logs. Later they came back and said the app is now owned by another Bubble account (they only gave me a masked email), and they can’t intervene because it’s an ownership dispute.

The developer says he lost access to the app months ago. He’s been telling me to ask Bubble for the audit logs because he says they’ll prove he didn’t transfer anything. He’s even offered to go through the logs with me if Bubble shares anything.

Bubble’s final answer is basically "contact the developer and have him transfer it back, except he says he can’t because he doesn’t own it.

So now I’m stuck.

Has anyone here ever seen something like this?

A few questions:

  • Can a developer who was invited into someone else’s app transfer ownership?
  • Does Bubble keep logs showing when ownership changes and who initiated it?
  • Has anyone successfully gotten Bubble to investigate something like this beyond standard support?

I’m not trying to get Bubble to disclose another user’s information. I’m just trying to understand how an app that started in my account ended up attached to another account.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

It appears that someone has gained unauthorized access to your Bubble account, not just your app. This is a more serious matter than simply gaining access to your app; it seems to involve your entire Bubble account.

If you only invited a Bubble developer to an app, not as an admin, they shouldnt have been able to take over your Bubble account like that, just your app.

Yes, if developer has admin rights as collaborator they can transfer ownership

Yes

Yes, just ask them to send it up the chain, but sounds like they have already confirmed it’s the developer who now owns it.

@getpeerrate I recommend you follow up with the latest message you got from Bubble’s customer support to find a resolution to this.
