Export is where the tags will be most needed. There would be a need to organize exported tags according to the app’s structure. Otherwise, the notes would just export in a jumble. Would need to be sorted by page, and within page, sorted by desktop objects and workflows. And within each workflow, sorted by workflow action. And separately sorted by database file and within each database file, sorted by field.
Update: Elemental now supports tags!
What’s new:
-
Tag indicator - note cards display the number of tags assigned to each note;
-
Tag search - you can search using tags too. In order to search by tag, the first search query must include
tag:
(let me know if/how I can improve this)
How-to:
- Add/remove tag: click the info button in the top corner to display the details panel. Add tags.
Update: Dark mode for the plugin editor
Elemental now supports the dark them for the plugin editor as well.
Shoutout to all the plugin devs, expect more love from Elemental in the future
Quick update:
I’m busy working on:
- handoff: transfer notes ownership to another user
- collaboration: share notes with multiple team-members
In order to tackle these 2, I’ve made some changes to the side menu.
FYI
There was a bug, that added apps to your list of apps in Elemental, if you simply visited another editor (e.g: editor of a plugin demo).
I’ve rolled out a fix, so that only apps where you have created at least 1 note will appear on the list.
In case you’re wondering why your list of apps is different, I’ve removed all apps, that had a note count zero.
New update: Transfer ownership is now live! (handoff naming dropped).
I’m super excited about this update because it opens up the possibility to finally create documentation for others!
Building a project for a client? Transfer notes with a single click. When it’s time to transfer ownership of the notes created using Elemental, you can use this feature to do so.
Check out this example, where I transfer ownership between 2 Elemental accounts:
How does it work?
- When creating a note in an app for the first time, a workspace is created and assigned to you.
- This workspace will contain all app-specific notes that you create over time.
- This workspace (and respective notes) can be transferred.
Requirements to receive ownership:
- Clients to receive ownership will need an Elemental account (I’ve introduced a free plan for this purpose)
Breakdown of the Elemental plans:
Basic (Free):
- this is great for users that just want access to notes created by a hired Bubble developer, an later transferred to them;
- You won’t be able to create new notes;
- Edit notes that have been transferred;
Pro (Monthly subscription):
- This is great for Bubble developers that want to create and shape exceptional documentation for their apps over time.
- Create unlimited workspaces (meaning you can use Elemental with all the apps you want);
- Create unlimited notes, and edit them without any limits
- Full package basically
Other minor updates:
- Over the week I’ve made several minor improvements to the dark mode theme for the Bubble editor as well as the plugin editor.
Let me know what you think!
Update:
Elemental now adapts to your editor theme. Enjoy Bubble and Elemental in dark mode
Another change:
I’ve added a close button within the sidepanel. Here’s a quick demo:
I’m unable to create notes at all. I can right-click on an element or workflow to get the note option, but if I select “note” from the menu, nothing happens. I disabled all chrome extensions and still get the same error. Any idea what’s wrong?
@uristra let me help you out:
- Do you already have an elemental account?
- If you have an account, did you subscribe to the pro plan or did you opt for the free plan?
The free plan does not allow new note creation. It’s intended to view notes that have been transfered (e.g: a bubble developer built an app, used elemental to document the app, transferred notes to owner of the app).
You can upgrade your plan though - here’s how:
- Click the “Note” button in the left-menu in your Bubble editor to reveal Elemental;
- Click on the “Menu” icon to reveal the menu;
- Click on your profile picture (next to your app id), this will reveal a context menu;
- Click subscribe, and complete the steps.
If you’re still having problems, please DM me. I’m happy to troubleshoot further.
P.s: I’ve updated the copy differentiating the different plans. Hopefully it’s clearer that with the free plan it’s not possible to create notes.
Last week was a productive week and I’m here to share some updates
Export is now live
Nothing fancy, just a simple export of your notes, and some information that is used to determine which notes belongs to what element, workflow, action etc in bubble.
Add Team members to your workspace
First iteration of teams is now available which is a great addition for teams working on the same bubble app.
- Team members get access to all notes within the workspace they are added to;
- Team members can add/edit and archive notes;
How it works:
- Go to your workspace settings;
- Insert the username of the members you’d like to invite and click add;
To remove a team member:
- Go to your workspace settings;
- Hover over the username of the member you’d like to remove and click the “X” button;
Requirements: team members will need a pro subscription to be able to join a team.
Audio transcription is now live
Writing good documentation in Bubble can be time consuming. Sometimes, talking is faster than typing. To speed things up, voice notes is now supported in Elemental.
Use your voice to document your apps.
Other updates:
- Minor improvements to the bubble dark mode theme.
How is this project going? How many users do you have? What updates do you have on the horizon?
I’m assuming this project is dead?
Hey @chad5 sorry for missing your first message - my bad.
This project is not dead at all! I’ve just been super busy and haven’t had much time to check the forum.
I’ll post an update later today were I’ll:
- cover your questions
- share some progress updates and what is coming next.
Thanks Bryan I’m interested in checking it out
Hey Bryan… hows the update going?
Just wanted to check in - is this a dead project?
