Hello everyone, I’m new and i’m trying to make a serious app, I’m using the new responsive engine, but, is it reliable or should I first use the old version to be sure that I don’t encounter bugs that I can’t recognize?
Like I’m already finding limitations to a responsive design of a repeating group columns and I don’t know if it’s my lack of experience in bubble or it’s actually a limitation of the new engine
Hi there, @Makks… just one person’s opinion here (although, it is a pretty informed opinion), but limitations or not, you should definitely use the new responsive engine for any new project because it is the future of Bubble. Josh has made it clear that the old engine is not going away any time soon (if ever), but Bubble’s responsive-related efforts will be put into the new engine, and I believe their plan is to eventually stop allowing new apps to be on the old engine.
So, in short, I would use the new engine and deal with the limitations because Bubble is actively working to address the limitations, whereas they won’t be putting much development effort into the old engine going forward.
Ok thanks I can imagine it’s like that and for now I’ll move to some other part of the app.
In case you would like to have a look at my problem and tell me your opinion that would be appreciated, of course if you will not we’ll still be friends
Also, I read that to make it a native app it’s recommended to make everyting into the same page and making appear/disappear things.
So, that’s in case you actually make an app specific for phones and NOT for desktop so i presume I should first concentrate on the generic site/web app and them move on, right?
