Hi Segongora,

The verification by google: is it an automated process and does google charge for it?

Also, the fork you mentioned in the previous response which says if delete API is not required then there’s no need for verification- is this fork available?

Last question: you mentioned gmail.com or facebook.com etc. This was to clarify that this plugin works for personal id gmail.com as well as for those having their own domain on google workspace.

Hi @narayan - answering to your questions:

  • Google charges over API usage.
  • The Fork was not possible, as Google still needs a extensive checkup for sending emails
  • Yes, plugin works for personal gmails, or those who have own domain within Google Workspace

Hey @segongora9, this is my first time using a plugin so forgive me if I’m not looking in the right place.

Use case: I’d like users to grant my application read access to their emails so I can search them and attachments.

But reading this forum I have two questions:

  1. https://plugins.gongora.me/documentation/gmail-api I can’t see the documentation for the plugin?
  2. If I’m just requesting READ access, will the security check for users be cleaner? In the last demo video you posted, it had a “warning” screen that doesn’t seem like a great UX, where the user had to click “advance” through the browser despite the warning.

Hi, I’m interested in this plugin, but how does it work? Is there a warning when it is used by the user? Does it require an audit to be verified? How long is the entire setup process? Are the gmails secure? I’d love to get on a call or talk over email @segongora9 . Or feel free to reply here. Thanks!

Also to your questions, there is a warning for the user when the app is not yet verified by Google. Yes, it requires a Google Audit since we’re reading emails and that is considered sensitve informaiton. The Gmails are coming from server side (never client-side) so they’re securely coming from Bubble servers (and never stored anywhere else).

Thanks @segongora9. How much would it cost to build a function in a CRM where users can receive and send emails via gmail? Are there any alternatives to the audit?

Unfortunately, there are no alternatives to the Google audit.
With the use of the plugin, I can do that feature (users login with Google, users can see/receive emails and users can send emails within the app) in 5-6hrs. Let me know if you want to setup a meeting sometime to talk about this

Question about the security assessment, is there really a $15k - 75K cost associated with it?

Is there a way to read, parse and display the email data from the client side to by pass the security search in bubble?

Thanks for making this plugin. Any plans on offering events for incoming emails? So I could listen to a webhook and then save the email down to database without the user being logged in? thanks
