Problem tracking new users with Mixpanel

Hi! I want to save a new user in Mixpanel each time a new visitor arrives to my site, so I´m sending an event to Mixpanel with a new random string as ID. However, in my Mixpanel console it says that I’m not tracking users… Can you guess what´s the problem? Here a pic of my configuration:

Thanks a lot and best regards!

Are the users logged in? I’m not 100% sure, but I believe they need to be for sending users to mixpanel.
Also, if they are logged in, is there a spesific reason you want to use random string instead of for ex. their email address or their unique ID in bubble?

@pnodseth thanks, exactly that’s the key: users are not logged in. In non-Bubble, I am able to send a user event to Mixpanel even if they´re not logged in (however, you’re limited with the things you store about them, and that’s why I use random IDs). It would be a pity if it wouldn’t possible to do the same with Bubble… Hopefully there’s some way  Let’s see if someone has a clue!

Thanks!

You could probably insert the tracking code onto your pages instead of using the bubble mixpanel plugin. I’ve done that with quite similar sites like fullstory.com and drift.com (both with user identification).
Btw, if you use several of these tools I would highly recommend using segment.com. Then you only need segments tracking code on your site, and segment connects to all your services.

@pnodseth thanks a lot! That’s a good idea! However, I’d prefer to not add too many HTML boxes (to insert the Mixpanel script, e.g., apart from having the Mixpanel plugin installed to easily track events). However, the Segments tracking code looks like a great idea. The only thing I don’t like too much about Segment is that it’s not free if you wanna do a couple things at the same time… However, I’ll think about it  Thanks a lot!

I’m not sure you need to add html boxes.
I think you could use the javascript toolbox plugin to add javascript to workflow actions for event tracking

Thanks @pnodseth! I haven’t used the javascript toolbox plugin yet, but it looks like a good way to send JS events to other places, like Mixpanel  I will try it. THANKS!

Just to let you know that the Toolbox plugin for JavaScript works like a charm. Now I’m sending data to Mixpanel as an event in my workflows  Thanks again, @pnodseth!
