Search Box Geographic Location Prefer Results Around - Not Filtering

Hi,

I’m using a search box to have users enter their address, but even though I’ve set the “Prefer results around” to a value that it accepts (in this case, Canada) it won’t filter the results. I’ve tried adjusting the radius from blank to 10,000,000 and that doesn’t change anything. No matter what I do, it’s showing results from all around the world and users must type most of their address before it narrows it down to a Canadian address.

I know that My Google Geocoding API is set up correctly because I can see that calls are going through in the Google Cloud dashboard.

I’m pretty sure that this is all set up correctly, so could this be a bug?
