Sendgrid blocking some addresses

Hi there,

I´m having issues with Sendgrid since sometimes I get a “block” in the activity feed so the email is not sent.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Thanks a lot.

Hey @ryanck,

Take a look at SendGrid’s documentation on Blocks.

Thanks @iamsalar,

I´ve seen that, the problem is that I don´t know how to fix this.

Is there any way?

SendGrid seems to suggest investigating the cause of the Block. What have you discovered there?

For now I´ve just discovered that it happens with hosted email accounts but for gmail, yahoo, hotmail, outlook, … it works.

The question was more so about the reason for the block.

From the SendGrid documentation: “The “Reason on the Block” will clarify what the exact reason is.”

Ah yeah I´ve got an 550 error all the time.

For reference, here’s what SendGrid defines as Error Code 550:

##550
The user’s mailbox was unavailable. Usually because it could not be found, or because of incoming policy reasons.

Examples:

550 5.1.1 The email account that you tried to reach does not exist. Please try double-checking the recipient’s email address for typos or unnecessary spaces.
550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable
550 5.1.1 <address@aol.com>: Recipient address rejected: aol.com
What to do with this response:It’s probably a good idea to take addresses that throw this response off of your main list, as it’s likely a bogus address or one that was mistyped.

Seems to be tied directly to recipient fields. We’ve personally never had a blocking issue before.
Reach out to SendGrid to get their take on it and see where it goes from there.

Yeah I´ll do that.

I´m thinking this Sendgrid thing is not as easy as I thought it will be.
