⏰ Simple Timer/Stopwatch - New Plugin from Zeroqode

Hi! @ramzizi
Thank you for your patience. :pray:t2:

By default, when the page is refreshed or the web app has lost an internet connection, the time value, counted by the plugin, will be refreshed. To be able to achieve your use case goal, manual customizations will be needed. You can save timer values into the database whenever you press the “Pause” button. So, you ned to do it manually. And please note that this is only possible before refreshing your page.

In this instance, to save the results to the database, please make sure you have set “make changes to thing…” and “create new thing…” actions for the pause button. Please see the correct setup:

Besides, you need to do a search for Plugin’s value: the first item in the appearance. Please take a look at the example below.

I hope this will help you to manage your app with the Simple Timer/Stopwatch plugin more effectively.

Best regards,

Hi @ZeroqodeSupport ! I was wondering whether this plugin would allow me to set a timer once the data is created ‘Create a new thing’ and then deleted after the timer runs out, e.g. deleted after 12 hours once the user has uploaded a photo. Thanks!

Hi @ylbernhard,
Please accept our sincere apologies for the late reply. :pray:t2:

Yes, it is possible with the “Timer End” event which helps trigger a list of actions at the end of the time set in the timer.

Here you can see how it works: Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording Software

Hope it helps. :slightly_smiling_face:

Wow! That’s exactly what I need. Just to confirm, for example, if I started the timer for 30 seconds and then after 5 seconds I refreshed the page, would the timer be around 20-25 seconds? Basically the functionality I need is I want the photo to delete in real time after 3 hours have elapsed but they don’t constantly need to be on the website if that makes sense

Hi @ylbernhard!

Unfortunately, when the page is refreshed or the app has lost an internet connection, the time value, counted by the plugin, will be refreshed.

However, you can use “Schedule an API workflow” to delete it on the expiration date.

Please take a look at these forum threads which might help you to implement this functionality:

Hi @levon @ZeroqodeSupport !

My question is related to this explanation.
I’ve noticed that when I start a countdown and the user closes the tab on his phone, the countdown seems to pause or stop but I can’t figure out a way to find out the countdown status.
Since this countdown measures the user’s activity (if active it’s OK, if inactive I have to log him out), I’m wondering how I can monitor the countdown status before switching to a backend workflow.

I would have used your plugin to detect when the user closes a tab but I’ve tried and it only works and computers

Thank you in advance

Hello @maxencepautre,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

If you want to check if the countdown has ended or if it is still running, you can use two event plugins: “End Countdown” and “Countdown Ready”.

Additionally, you can create a custom state that will know if the element is counting and help you in the workflow.

Could you please provide more information about what you mean in this statement?

We hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions or require additional assistance.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your answer. I’m gonna try that.

For the part you didn’t understand, I wanted to use your plugin that detects when a user is closing his browser so I can end the countdown. It works great on laptops but aparently not with mobile devices.

Hello @maxencepautre ,

Thank you for providing further details on your query.

Regarding the mobile application, could you specify if you are referring to a native application or a web application accessed through a browser? Additionally, if it is a native application, could you please check and inform us whether the web version is ending the countdown in a browser on mobile?

This information will assist us in determining better whether the issue originates from our plugin.

Looking forward to your reply.
