Google search console doesn’t seem to be updating my sitemap. After investigating I noticed the sitemaps do not have 2021-01-01 date in the sitemap so Google never updates it in Google search console. After looking at the Google documentation it states:
- Google uses the
<lastmod>value if it’s consistently and verifiably (for example by comparing to the last modification of the page) accurate.
So with out this Google never reindexes my sitemap and updates it. This is a serious bug for SEO.
