Thursday Community Poll [Aug-21]

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of our bi-weekly community poll. This is our chance to talk about interesting topics and hear from everyone.

I’ll take the results of each poll and all related discussion in the thread to the team to help them better understand all of your needs.

This week’s poll is:

How do you manage your dev work?

  • Jira
  • Linear
  • Trello
  • Notion
  • Obsidian
  • Slack
  • whatsapp
  • Telegram
  • Zapier
  • n8n
0 voters

If I missed any options or you have thoughts, please share in the comments below!

for all the people asking what a task is when you work with us  :

We use Slack, n8n and Airtable to manage things internally!

Good point I should’ve added Airtable in there, pretty popular

Guess I’m the oddball, I use Clickup, fairly similar to Jira.

A good free option is Asana. It has both table and Kanban views. Trello only offers Kanban view for free. It is hard to manage a lot of items. Clickup’s free version only has 60 MB storage.

@bcart0v never heard of Clickup. Why use them? Generous free tier, automations, or something else?

Generous free tier. At the time I had been using Ranger (Formally Commit) for Work and was looking for literally anything modern to go with, found them and decided to give it a try.

Since then my work has transitioned to DevOps, Jira and TeamSupport (Yes, we use 3 ticketing systems…) So I’m probably never switching at this point.

For one of my apps I built my own in bubble. It ties into a feature request and feedback tool users have access to. Does user notifications, comments etc. I’d share a screenshot but Bubble is down…again.

I like chaos, so i write my to-dos and changelogs in markdown format…

…in raw MD…

…in VS Code…

…with mismatched MD linter and Prettier settings. YOLO

Pencil and paper for myself. Google sheets and videos from clients. Is it chaos or efficiency? I can use my pencil to cross off a list item or highlight a spreadsheet row. Some clients get my WhatsApp for messaging and calls.
