Very slow live app performance vs. BubbleGo - 4+ month issue

Hi everyone, as said in the title, our app performs poorly in the live environment when compared to BubbleGo and I’m at a loss on what to do. What this looks like is, in BubbleGo we have the occasional lag but things still load. In live, things inconsistently load between sessions, it often appears as though buttons aren’t working due to speed, and the data users are able to see is incredibly inconsistent and sometimes wrong because the calculation to compute the correct value takes so long. It is also rare that the photo uploader and picture library mobile workflows take less than one minute to work. Lastly, this isn’ even consistent between devices. Sometimes things will work on my iOS device but not my colleagues iOS device of the same model.

Firstly, do not suggest connecting with support. I’ve been in contact with them about this for 4+ months and there is no resolve in site or updates to provide. Also please do not suggest just ignoring the live app and moving users to BubbleGo, for reasons I will not explain here that is not an option for us.

In my communication with the team they did share two things that could be directly correlated to poor live app performance.

  1. They haven’t closely assessed the differences in the BubbleGo and Live app environments

  2. They haven’t tested how conditional show/hide statements impact performance. This one stands out to us the most because our app creates personalized views of several pages based on user data, so this could be the issue.

So I’m coming to the community with the following asks.

  1. Has anyone experienced this same performance issue?

  2. If you have, do you also have a lot of conditional show/hide aspects of your app?

  3. Have you figured out a workaround?

Even just a comment of solidarity would be appreciated at this time. While I am aware this product is in beta - this seems like a significant enough performance issue to iron out before asking users to pay and before moving it to a public product in my opinion.

I’m still waiting for a response from the support team from 8 months ago. The only way I could ever get any help was from @nick.carroll on the forum, he’s literally the only one that seems to be providing any support. Although I gave up a couple months ago now, so not sure if this has gotten better but from your comment it seems it has not.

According to one of their team members, “bubble mobile is not for everyone”, so from my understanding, he’s saying it’s best we stop our complaining and use the product as is, or don’t use it at all.

WOW - what a claim from their team given that they are competing with other no-code mobile platforms that is not a great statement to make. I mean it is definitely made it apparent to me that we can’t rely on bubble forever. Will use it to get our MVP through testing but then will want to move away from third party dependency for actual scale.

I came across this while I was here to tell my concerns about upload speed on BubbleGo - I haven’t tried the live environment for mobile apps yet, but it is definitely concerning.

Interested in if anybody found a solution (I don’t know if it’s even possible). Is the Native Apps are not ready to be used? I am aware, it is still in Beta, but I didn’t expect to encounter this many critical issues.

Commenting for reach.
Would you be open to sharing the app link here or via DM? Happy to help by confirming the issue in a alternate region?

We’ve actually tested this and minimally it was also experienced by my colleagues in Nigeria. I’m currently based in the U.S.
