I’ve just downgraded from a legacy professional plan and signed up to the new starter plan (having moved the backend and database off Bubble to Node and Supabase).
I’m now being told that I need to pay of the last months WUs which were 5M so $1380!
For now I’m going to assume this is a billing oversight because I don’t see how I can be charged for historical WUs when 1 hours ago I was on a legacy pricing plan where the concept of WUs didn’t exist, surely your WUs on legacy for billing purposes should be 0 until you sign up for the new pricing plan?
For account & billing issues the support team would be the best suited to help. Have you contacted them?
I have but I want to get this sorted ASAP. Do you have any phonelines?

That’s certainly not what’s supposed to happen, and if it is, there’s surely no legal basis for it. Bubble doesn’t do phones, contact support and they’ll help you out, but don’t pay anything…
Moving from legacy → WU should never incur charges for WU incurred previously, as that’s not the terms of your contract with Bubble on the legacy plan. Keep us posted!

Yeh, I was dismayed when I saw it. Must be an oversight or there is going to be one almighty
storm when they auto switch everyone off legacy on the 1st October.
Wow… this reads like they were too lazy to set up a workaround to stop it being charged…
@fede.bubble one for you when you get back…

Wow this is disgusting. I had my deadline for migrating to October 1st but was thinking about doing it earlier if we finished our optimizations but it seems you get penalized for changing plans mid month, that makes zero sense.
Yeh, in essence the switch over date is really the 1st September, especially if you have significant Workload usage.
However i still don’t believe this is intended. It’s double charging.
WOW, yes you were theoretically right , what did bubble support says ?
maybe its suggestion, that my you are not anymore on legacy plan, you can be charged this much depending on you WU,
@jennifer.javier Can you help us here maám
what an absurd policy @fede.bubble that policy needs to be adjusted so users are charged on a prorated basis…if their legacy plan is $30/month and they change on the 10th, they should be charged $10 and only charged for WUs consumed from the 10th to the end of the month. A charge for all previous WU consumed is absurd.

me when i can’t be bothered to set up prorations in Stripe:
Please do keep this thread updated as this must have caused you undue stress and inconvenience over the past hours.
@lindsay_knowcode pointed this out to me, but you were warned before upgrading no?
I still think it’s a daft policy but Bubble will say ‘told you so’.

One angle is you can say that you downgraded in error on the 30th June, you instead want to downgrade on the 1st July. Get what I mean?

I saw this but as I was on the legacy plan until the 30th June, the final date of my monthly legacy subscription, my assumption was that my actual WUs would start from 0, because on the legacy pricing WUs don’t exist, so how can I have incurred them?
I’m reserving judgement as lazy implementation of legacy users because otherwise it’s doubling charging me for the month of June which obviously isn’t acceptable.
Still waiting on Bubble to get back to me.
Yes! Looking at the wording it does look like there is a hard reset on the 1st.
The problem was that my legacy pricing ran monthly, 30th to 30th, the worst possible situation for this!
I purposely waited until the 30th June as when you cancel Bubble immediately downgrades your plan. If I had waited until today I would have paid another months worth of legacy for absolutely no benefit… well apart from this new headache I guess
@recouk31 support told me they emailed you over the weekend to a gmail address. Can you check that?
Thanks, yeh I’ve just seen the response via the chat bubble at 7:41pm yesterday. Didn’t see any emails to my Gmail though, can you DM the one they were sent to.
I’ve actually got an very urgent follow up. Someone must have changed the wrong setting on my account as now Bubble thinks I’m not on a paid plan and has disabled my API connector. This means no one can login or signup. I have already sent a new bug report but if you can chase this as well very much appreciated. I’m dead in the water at the moment.
